Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN)

The Universities Policy Engagement Network, UPEN, is a network of UK universities who are working together to increase the public policy impact from their research.

As a member of UPEN, we collaborate with other university members to provide a more coordinated, efficient, and enhanced offer to policymakers.

As an example of this work, UPEN together with researchers from The University of Manchester, have previously ran a drop-in clinic on air quality in the upper waiting chamber at the House of Lords. This was part of Evidence Week, an initiative of Sense about Science, the House of Commons Library and the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology.

UPEN also has regular meetings with Government departments in order to help improve collaboration and engagement with academia.
